The Chester County History Center (CCHC) invites you and your family to a free, inspiring afternoon on January 31, 2026, created in partnership with the Kennett Underground Railroad Center (KURC) and West Chester Dance Works.

Start your visit at 1:00 PM with a self‑guided tour through 300 years of Chester County history. Then, from 2:00–3:00 PM, gather in the auditorium for a dynamic program exploring the county’s pivotal role in the pathway to freedom. Storytellers from KURC and CCHC will bring to life true accounts from the Underground Railroad, leading into a special preview performance by West Chester Dance Works. Rachel Harris, One Woman Over the Line shares the remarkable story of freedom seeker Rachel Harris and her daring escape through the streets of West Chester.

Children are encouraged to participate as well, discovering how movement and dance can express emotion and history.

This free community program is made possible in part by support from the Chester County Community Foundation.

Please pre‑register here to help us prepare for your visit .

Want to experience the full production of Rachel Harris, One Woman Over the Line? Catch it at the Uptown Theater in February. Details and tickets are available at www.uptownwestchester.org.  To learn more about the Underground Railroad, visit the Kennett Underground Center's website for upcoming events:  www.kennettundergroundrr.org.
