Located across from the entrance to Longwood Gardens, this building, which dates from circa 1855, was Longwood Progressive Friends Meetinghouse. The meetinghouse became a beacon to reformers throughout the United States for such movements as abolition, temperance and women's rights. Renowned speakers and visitors included Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony, and Sojourner Truth. It is a National Park Service Network to Freedom Site. (BrandywineValley.com)
